I am Kristy R. Langstraat and I am a DuPage County Girl Scout in Illinois.
These web pages were developed as a Girl Scout Gold Award project.
I love all animals, especially cats. I decided to do my Gold Award as a "Resource for Cat Lovers" in the Bensenville area. I would love to see all cats and animals placed in loving homes and be happy, safe and healthy. As a result of this Gold Award project, I may actually continue helping cats and animals for my life time. I have made this a life-long project.
Both of my cats were strays. We had them neutered, checked for feline leukemia, had their teeth cleaned and also make sure they have all of their shots every year so that they will be healthy and hopefully live a long, long life in our care.
I hope that this web site can answer or help to get answers for all of your cat care questions. Most importantly, if you are unable to keep any stray cat you may find, we provide a list of no-kill shelters that will take good care of the cat and help to find it a good home.
I hope these pages provide helpful information for what you need to know for the sake of your cats. We will not only have happier pet owners, but also some very contented cats.
Good luck!

P.S.
Since working on this project, I have become a volunteer for the Cat Guardians, a no-kill shelter in Lombard. I have taken training and help with fund-raisers to help pay for the cat's food and medical care, etc. I hope to continue as a voluteer for a long time. I really enjoy playing with all of the cats, but it is a happy and sad time for me when they find them homes.
