I started going to my mom’s book club at the Bensenville Library. The first book I read was Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles. Turns out she was the Bensenville Reads book/author which meant she would be at the library. So my mom and I went because we loved the book and couldn’t wait to read her other books too! She started out GREAT! She was so down to earth and FUNNY! She had us cracking up. Then she got interesting by giving us the details on her life and how and why she became an author. Then all the junior high and high school kids started asking STUPID questions and she wanted to fit in, and it got so boring and pointless. Great that she can relate to the younger kids, but she needed to learn how to engage and keep the interest of the adults as well. Still though, she is a great author, and I would recommend her books!
