Day 33 – 4 hour Double Deck bus tour

On Tuesday Darrell & I had our 4 hour double deck bus tour. This was well worth it! Not only did we have a bus that took us to all the great sites, no worries about parking, no hassle with lines (we got to cut in line for everything!) but we also learned a TON of information about Niagara Falls, the city, and everything that had to do with anything Niagara! We wouldn’t have been able to find this information out anywhere else! Plus it wasn’t even that expensive! We started by going to Journey behind the Falls, where you take an elevator down, go through some tunnels/caves and all of a sudden end up UNDERNEAT and BEHIND the Canadian falls! It was so loud and thunderous, but so amazing. Then you follow another tunnel and end up outside by right next to the falls, they give you raincoats, but the mist and water still gets all over you, it’s definitely like being in a hurricane, at least what I would imagine a hurricane to be like! After this we drove further away from the falls to the whirlpool, and we got to go on the Spanish Aero Whirlpool car ride, which is this thing hanging from 6 wires, and goes over the whirlpool to the American side and then back again, totally cool! After that we went to this flower clock, that is made out of real flowers, but actually is a real working clock. We drove by a bunch of other things, and learned all the history and then we ended our tour at the Maid of the Mist boat tour. This is probably one of the best things you can do at Niagara! You get yet another raincoat, we climbed up to the 2nd level of the boat right at the front, I tried to take pictures and videos (luckily the video camera is waterproof!) but as soon as you get close to the falls, it’s another hurricane, the water is smashing into you, it’s like pouring, the wind is ridiculous, you can barely even stay standing up! You can hardly see too with the water smashing into your face! Since I’m not really all for riding in a barrell over the falls, this is the next best way to get up and personal with the falls! We finished off the day by eating at Hard Rock Cafe, going to the coke store and the hershey store.
