So after another long hot day of working on the farm, Darrell got out early and we left the house at 5:30pm. We drove to Sandwich to pick up our 2 tractors on our goosneck trailer. We had to wait for Darrell’s mom so I could give her the peaches I got her from work. Then we drove to Sycamore, it was a lot farther then I had remembered! First we were driving thru DeKalb and I wanted to find Maid Rite, it’s a really good restaurant that has taverns that are like Bob’s taverns from LeMars, IA except not nearly as good! However, it was GONE! It is replaced by a Japanese restaurant. Very disappointing! Then we got to the show grounds in Sycamore. We unloaded our tractors and parked our trailer. Then it was finally time to eat, I was starving. The plan had been to eat at Scooby’s, and I was craving it! We got there, and guess what?! Yep GONE! Instead it was called Dairy Dogs. Even though disappointing, it was very good, and I had the best ice cream ever, it was like a blizzard only called a flurry and it was birthday cake flavored with sprinkles and brownie pieces mixed in! Anyways, we didn’t get home til 9:30, and I had to get up a 1/2 hour earlier today for work. I am EXHAUSTED! Of course now I have to get up at 4:30am tomorrow morning so my dad and me can go to the Illinois State Fair!!! Fun times!! :o)
