As I’m writing this my dad and I are heading home from the Illinois State Fair! It’s a tradition for us! We’ve been going for many years now always on opening day! Every year we get to meet the governor. It was so HOT today it was CRAZY, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time! We didn’t eat as much as we usually do because the excessive heat was making us sick to our stomachs! And our favorite bucket ride was broke. However, I saw tons of miniature donkeys and even baby ones, and for the first time I saw 3 one day old baby goats! Absolutely adorable!!! We saw a good show called kid fiddlers that was good, but was hot because it’s right out in the sun, there was no cloud coverage today at all! We frequented the few air conditioned buildings off and on, but that made it hard to go back out in the heat! Besides meeting the governor, he shook both of our hands and noticed my shirt said DuPage county, and my dad mentioned we were from Bensenville, he knew right away of Fenton, because his son would run cross country there, because he is originally from Hinsdale! Pretty neat! We ended up having dinner at Steak ‘n Shake in Bloomington, and when we came out there were twirling clouds, and the wind was ridiculous, we were sure a tonrado would drop out of the sky, but unfortunately the clouds broke up, and my dad and I were both very disappointed! Now as we are driving it is raining pretty hard though! Anyways, a great day like always!!!!!!!!!
