Day 15 – Gurnee Mills

It was so great this morning not having to get up at 5:30am to go to work! I had set the alarm for 8am, but at 7:15, Darrell said I should get up and start getting everything ready that needed to be done before we left. So I exercised outside in the freezing cold, in my shorts and tshirt, took a shower and then headed to the bank to get cash & then I picked up some breakfast from White Castle and brought it home. Then we put the cats in the camper and we headed out! We stopped at Gurnee Mills to the cowboy boot shop there, because 4 years ago in 2006 we went there and found some great boots! (We had been to Fright Fest at Great America and were on our way to the old Sundace Saloon for their Halloween party!!) Anyways, we always said we’d come back sometime and actually purchase the boots we wanted, but obviously it took us 4 years! Well we both found the ones we wanted, we paid for them and had them ordered, because they didn’t have my size and they didn’t have Darrell’s color, so they should arrive at our house in a week! Woo! Then we arrived at Bristol, Wisconsin and our campsite at Happy Acres Kampground! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it here! It’s huge and so pretty and peaceful (except for the loud kids and barking dogs!) But, they have a lake and animals seeing as it’s a farm and surrounded by more farms! Plus tons of animals; chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, mini donkeys, emus llamas, and horses, even a baby horse! I hope this weekend goes by slowly! Today’s picture is of all the cowboy boots we had to choose from!!!

Sounds amazing, and since I’m keeping up with your updates on facebook, too, I know you’re having a fun time, and I’m happy for you! When will we be seeing vids on youtube of the Happy Acres animals? :p
